This is the Giant Tiger Prawn, also called Black Tiger Prawn. It is the largest prawn and can be 40 centimetres long not including the feelers. This species too is brought to the market through shrimp farms. It is a beautiful prawn; cooked and unpeeled they are red and peeled the meat has an attractive red and white pattern. This prawn is, therefore, very attractive for gastronomy. The Giant Tiger Prawn is mentioned as a separate species due to its reputation. It is a prawn from the Penaeid shrimp group.
