Heiploeg depends on nature for its products. A clean worldwide environment is the foundation for our products and, therefore, also our existence. Operational management based on environment cleaning technology is, in the current social perception, definitely a quality characteristic of a product. This puts Heiploeg in an awkward position; a large factory, intensive energy, water and chemical consumption, heavy use of transportation infrastructures, shrimping and aquaculture. All are at odds with the concept of environmental care. The Legal compliance and continuous improvement are thereby key element. Heiploeg, therefore, attempts to exercise as little pressure as possible on the environment through its operational management. In principle, the extent of the environmental load that is brought about by shrimping or aquaculture must be taken into consideration when purchasing raw materials. People will say that shrimping will negatively influence nature. A responsible, sustainable utilisation, however, of natural resources whereby issues such as population assessment and biodiversity are guaranteed, is thoroughly considered to be responsible. The purchase of raw materials is also implemented under the specification of recyclable packaging material.
Heiploeg uses a hypermodern factory, electricity is generated on site and the wastewater produced is utilised. Wastewater is purified at our own wastewater purification plant.
