Ambitions and strategy

The retention of our market leadership in the shrimp processing and sales field linked to a certain growth within this field is the most important commercial ambition of our company. You could, at this moment, state that “Heiploeg is just shrimp...” since the company does not really have any other activities than trading and processing shrimp. The ambition could perhaps best be expressed with the extension “...and shrimp are just Heiploeg....”

Obviously this is closely related to our mission. It is often said that: ”The ultimate quality shrimp is a shrimp that you eat straight after it has been caught, cooked and peeled”. There really is no misunderstanding in relation to this. A cutter that fishes one ton of unpeeled shrimp in one week will have to carry three thousand consumers on a weekly basis if they want to all eat 100 grams of top quality peeled shrimp.

There is, however, something that will really bring shrimp to the public: Heiploeg. We also expect that sometime in the future we will also be able to offer the public exactly the same quality as if our shrimp came straight from the cutter; through our expertise in shrimp. That is our ambition too.

Heiploeg has deployed a certain strategy to realise its ambitions. By anticipating social change in the broadest sense and by implementing this change through our products and operational management, we try to fully meet current and future customer requirements and wishes through a professional and constantly renewed business policy.
